Frozen Vapor Studios and AG Wright Film Club Premiere Student Mystery Film S.T.E.M. Scouts
Frozen Vapor Studios continues to invest in the future of filmmaking by guiding students through a professional production experience.
Stafford, VA – April 25, 2025 – Frozen Vapor Studios is proud to announce the upcoming premiere of S.T.E.M. Scouts, a new student-made mystery short film produced in collaboration with the AG Wright Middle School Film Club. The film will debut on May 23, 2025, showcasing the hard work and talent of a dedicated group of middle school students who stepped up to meet the challenge of creating a higher-level cinematic production.
This marks the latest in a series of community outreach efforts by Frozen Vapor Studios, which has made it a mission to mentor young, aspiring filmmakers by providing professional-grade experiences in real-world environments. S.T.E.M. Scouts tells the gripping story of four curious students who stumble upon clues that point to a decades-old disappearance involving former classmates. As the mystery deepens, the students risk everything to uncover the truth, blending suspense, curiosity, and teamwork into a fast-paced and engaging narrative.
What sets this production apart is the high standard to which it was held. The set operated with the precision and professionalism of an independent film shoot, complete with cinema-quality cameras, professional lighting rigs, boom microphones and sound mixer equipment, and even highly detailed sets and props. Each student was assigned an industry-standard role – ranging from Production Assistant and Script Supervisor to Boom Operator and First Assistant Director – giving them a firsthand look at the structure and discipline of film production.
“From day one, the goal was to treat these students like a real crew,” said Philip Snow, lead mentor at Frozen Vapor Studios. “We didn’t simplify the process – we elevated them to it. They learned how to run a set, manage time, work as a team under pressure, and adapt to unexpected challenges. That’s the kind of experience you can’t get from a textbook.”
The production took place during a fast paced week after school hours, often requiring students to balance their academic responsibilities with their creative ambitions. The cast and crew worked tirelessly to bring the story to life, handling everything from script revisions and blocking to scene continuity. The film gave students their first experience working at such a high level.
AG Wright Film Club Advisor Mr. Snow praised the students’ dedication: “This was a very ambitious project with a compressed timeline. Watching these young filmmakers step into serious creative roles and thrive was nothing short of inspiring. Their growth as artists and collaborators has been phenomenal.”
The premiere of S.T.E.M. Scouts will take place at AG Wright Middle School on May 23, 2025, with a red carpet event and Q&A session featuring the student cast and crew. Family, friends, faculty, and members of the local community are invited to attend and celebrate the next generation of storytellers.
